Bold Colored Easy Baby Blanket

This reminds me of books from my childhood; bright colors and rhyming words with the message of being a good person tucked right into the story. I avoid making pastel colored ANYTHING (unless requested) and this one is my new favorite of all my baby creations.

I used Loops and Threads Impeccable in Folklore.

Size 10 needles (use connected circular, there is too much for straight needles)

Cast on 4 stitches

First, we start the corner:

Row 1: knit

Row 2: knit 2, increase one stitch by knitting the next stitch, leaving the yarn on the needle and knitting again into the back side of the same stitch. Also known as a bar increase. knit to the end of the row.

Row 3: knit 2, increase again, knit to the end of the row.

Row 4: knit 2, increase again, knit to the end of the row.

Row 5: knit 2, increase again, knit to the end of the row.

Here, we start the body, change how we increase, and start the border make it larger:

Row 4: knit 3, yo, knit to the end of the row.

Continue knitting the same as row 4 until the blanket is as wide across as you would like it to be from corner to corner.

Now, we decrease.

Knit 2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, knit to the end of the row.

Continue to decrease until you have 5 stitches left.

Knit 1, k2tog, knit to the end of the row.
Knit 1, k2tog, knit to the end of the row.
Knit 3
Bind off.

yo: yarn over
k2tog: knit two together
